Experience a varied circular hike through the fragrant pine forest of Fourni at the foot of the mystical Mount Juchtas near Heraklion. The trail takes you along gravel paths and narrow trails through a quiet, green oasis – with breathtaking views of the traditional village of Archanes and the surrounding countryside.

We hike past one of the largest Minoan necropolises of the Bronze Age – a place steeped in history that remains a mystery to this day. Not far from there, you will discover a small stone theatre, which lies forgotten in the forest and invites you to take a short break.

Parts of the trail run above a small gorge and offer spectacular views into the depths – perfect for nature lovers and anyone who wants to discover the quiet beauty of Crete off the beaten track.

Note on the route:
Some short sections of the hike can be a little rough. But these small challenges are what make the tour truly adventurous!

The hike is possible all year round!
